We believe that the Bible, Old Testament and New Testament are the only inherent and infallible writings that we have. These writings are sufficient for life and godliness in everything we need to know and do the will of God.
We believe in one God, the creator and sustainer of life, who exists in three unique persons as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is and always will be loving, holy and true.
God, the Father, at His very nature is love, righteous and truth. He must be all of these at one time. As the perfect Father, He provides for us. He desires to know us as a father knows his child. In fact, He loved us so much that He sacrificed His only Son to restore our broken relationship with Him.
Jesus is the only begotten Son of God. He has always existed. He’s 100% God, holy, righteous, and true. He is 100% man born of a virgin, capable of being tempted to sin, yet remaining sinless. He lived a perfect life, died on a cross for all man’s sin, He rose from the grave three days after his death, and purchased our only way to righteousness and forgiveness. It is because of Him that we can stand before God, righteous and forgiven.
We believe that Jesus is the only human to ever follow God‘s plan completely and without error. He is the one and only example of how to follow God flawlessly. We believe He was filled with and dependent upon the Holy Spirit to help Him fulfill His mission, and He could not have fulfilled, nor did the works and miracles that He did, apart from abiding in the Father and being filled with the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is God, and not merely a force. The Holy Spirit has always existed and will always exist. God, the Holy Spirit, communicates with us, fills and empowers us with everything we need in this life. We believe the gifts and fruit of The Spirit are alive and available to believers still today. We believe disciples cannot fulfill God’s plan without the Holy Spirit actively leading an empowering us.
Because God is holy, our sin has separated us from Him. God is holy and righteous; He cannot overlook or excuse sin. But when we confess our sin and put our trust in the complete work of Jesus, God can and will forgive us. When a person, by faith, accepts the work of Jesus Christ on their behalf, all their past, present, and future sins have been forgiven by grace through faith alone. While sin does not separate us from God’s love, it still has very great consequences. For the one who doesn't put their faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ, it means their sins have not been forgiven and at death, even though God loves them, sin will bring eternal separation from God.
For the one who believes and is forgiven, unconfessed sin hinders God from hearing and answering our prayers, blessing our lives, and leading us well. Sin robs us of the abundant life Christ came to give. We believe a true disciple of Christ will not knowingly and willingly continue to live with no regard for their sin.
Salvation from the guilt, penalty and all other consequences of sin has been achieved solely through the work of Jesus Christ – his perfect obedience, substitutionary death, bodily resurrection and exaltation as Lord. Jesus alone is truly God and truly human, the only mediator between God and humanity. There is salvation through no other person, creed, process or power. Each sinner is justified before God and reconciled to God only by divine grace appropriated by faith alone.
Eternal life is a free gift from God; for anyone who repents of their sins and puts their faith in Jesus Christ. Eternal life is something that starts the moment you become a believer, not something you have after you die. When you become a believer, the spirit of God is alive inside of you, the fruit of God will grow in you, and you have begun to live eternal life.
The church is God‘s family of believers, and is referred to in the Bible as the body of Christ. The head of the body is Christ himself, and every believer is a significant and important part of the body of Christ and plays an important role.
We believe that all God requires of us can be summed up in one commandment: " Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself." It's not complicated.
We believe that the Great Commission found in Matthew 28:18-20 is a commission given to committed and trained disciples. Therefore, Bus7 believes that the call to GO cannot be answered until the call to follow Christ (be equipped) has occurred; if we focus on following Christ, He, through the Holy Spirit, will equip us to GO.
